Visit the #HeraeusCatalysts- Team at Chemspec 2024

Heraeus Booth Hall 3 booth D170 | 19. – 20. June 2024

At this year's Chemspec, Heraeus Precious Metals will be presenting its newly developed precious metal-coated carbon microsphere catalysts, a type of heterogeneous catalyst that can be used in both batch- and continuous-operated reactors. Further product innovations, such as palladium phosphines and ligands will also be showcased. Use exceptional networking opportunities and discover products and solutions in direct dialogue with Heraeus Precious Metals experts. The technical and commercial specialists will share their ideas and provide professional consulting about precious metal catalysts and services for the Fine and Specialty Chemicals Industry. The team looks forward to discussing current trends, processes, and challenges with you.

Precious Metal Catalysts – Ligand Technologies for Efficient Cross-coupling Reactions and Closed-loop Approach for a Sustainable Future

Where: Booth AA10, Pharma Lecture Theatre

When: Wednesday, 19th June, 11:30 - 12:00

New advances in ligand technology in precious metal based homogeneous Catalysis

Innovative Precious Metal Catalysts facilitate new synthesis routes in many fields of chemistry. They help to form new active ingredient molecules in pharmaceutical, agro and fine chemicals

New advances in ligand technology in precious metal based homogeneous Catalysis

  • Importance of homogeneous precious metal catalysts for increasing the yield and selectivity in pharmaceutical syntheses
  • Fabrication of a line of palladium phosphine complexes for C-C coupling reactions
  • Designing a new phosphine ligand to be used with Pd2(dba)3 for challenging C-N couplings
  • Cost attractiveness of precious metal-based catalysts, when applying recycling loop strategies, which allow an efficient use of scarce precious metals.

Speaker: Dr. Detlef Gaiser, Technical Sales Manager

Dr. Detlef Gaiser, Technical Sales Manager | Heraeus Precious Metals

Dr. Detlef Gaiser has work experience of almost 25 years in several technical positions in the chemical industry: research, production, application technology and technical sales. His passion is to understand complex technical contexts, find and explain solutions and of course turning these into profitable businesses. Some of his latest topics are: Homogeneous precious metal catalysts for fine chemicals & pharmaceuticals, precious metal salts & solutions, ruthenium as a conductor metal in semiconductor microchips.

Black Powders & Spheres: Precious Metal Catalysts for Efficient Production of Value-Added Chemicals

Where: Booth F200, Royal Society of Chemistry Lecture Theatre

When: Wednesday, 19th June, 14:00 - 14:30

Precious Metal Catalysts based on Carbon

More than 80 percent of all reactions in the chemical industry are carried out with the help of catalysts.

Precious Metal Catalysts based on Carbon are particularly designed for the hydrogenation of organic intermediates in the production of APIs, fine and agro chemicals, flavour and fragrances as well as in the production of chemicals from renewable feedstocks.

In this presentation we will speak about the design, development and production of precious metal based heterogeneous catalysts and the HeraSelect® portfolio (precious metal catalysts on activated carbon: powder and shaped particles). Furthermore, we will discuss the ecological and economical attractiveness of precious metal-based catalysts, when applying recycling loop strategies, which allow an efficient use of scarce precious metals.

Speaker: Artur Gantarev, Global Technical Sales Manager

Artur Gantarev

Artur studied Chemistry at RWTH Aachen and worked on PhD-related topics in technical chemistry at TU Darmstadt about development, characterization, and screening of heterogeneous catalysts.

He joined Heraeus in 2022 as a Technical Sales Manager for Chemical Catalysts. His approach is to be an all-in-one solution for business partners to address both commercial and technical issues in all details.
